Abstract

This is a review of three books:

Business, Human Rights and Transitional Justice, Irene Pietropaoli. Routledge, May 2020, 286pp. ISBN: 9780367376024

Corporations, Accountability and International Criminal Law: Industry and Atrocity, Joanna Kyriakakis. Edward Elgar, December 2021, 320pp. ISBN: 9780857939494

Transitional Justice and Corporate Accountability from Below, Leigh A. Payne, Gabriel Pereira and Laura Bernal-Bermúdez. Cambridge University Press, April 2020, 376pp. ISBN: 9781108474139

This review essay discusses the historical and ongoing influence of the politics of transitional justice on corporate accountability; corporate accountability via criminal law; and experimenting with regional and international institutions for corporate accountability as part of transitional justice. I highlight the contribution made by the three books regarding each of these points and to the field of transitional justice.
